Hi,

What formula would I use to return the year to date total as in the following:

Cell A1 is Jan, Cell B1 is Feb, Cell C1 is Mar, and so thru L1 is Dec.
Data is in A2, B2, C2, thru L2.

So if there is a year to date total column N that depends on the month, how do I return the results depending on what month it is. For example if N1=Mar I want to say if N1 = C1, sum A2 through C2?

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.

Try this...

=SUM(A2:INDEX(A2:L2,MATCH(N1,A1:L1,0)))
