Returning Calendarized Data

I have a title sheet that I want to show the data by month. My data sheet is a list of costs and what month they hit the system.
Is there any way that I have have my title sheet search the data sheet and return the costs into the correct month column?
Also, the data column will most likely have multiple lines of data in each given month.

Hi, Easiest would be to use pivot table and put date in Rows and Cost in column. The data can be grouped by Years, Quarters, Months etc.
