Restore my work

Hi all
Back again with a big problem
I was working on my project for more than 3 hours
unfortunately
someone switched off the electricity.When I opened my Excel workbook,I found that none of my work was done
Plz help to restore my 3_hour work
Using Excel 2003 /windows 7

1. Go to backup copy.
2. Excel sometimes says it can recover a file. Use that option if it comes up.

If the power went off while you were working and you didn't save it, and option 2 idoesn't work then you've lost it.

There's an autosave feature in Excel if you have it switched on.

How to recover unsaved Excel files

Go to FILE -> Open.
Choose Recent Workbooks.
Scroll down and click on the Recover Unsaved Workbooks button at the bottom of the list. Note. ...
When the Open dialog box pops up, just select the necessary file and click Open.

when I opened my file then
File -> Open
there is no Recent Workbooks to choose
there is My Recent documents
If I choose it , I don't find Recover Unsaved Workbooks button
I'm using Excel 2003

In 2003 goto Tools > Options > Save
Is there a tick in the checkbox by "Save Autorecover info every"?
If so just below (& to the right) it will show you the file path to any AutoSaved files.

When you setup autorecover then Excel will save a copy based what you entered. So if excel crashes you can recover the data from the recovery copy. This will not help you in this case but going forward you could recover your work.
