I am generating reports that include a series of 24 variables (each corresponding to an item in an assessment). Essentially, it is the same pivot table 24 times, only changing one column in each pivot table. Each row in the pivot table, below, represents a classroom, or a subtotal of classroom types (e.g., rows 83 and 84 are 2 classrooms of 4-year-olds).
I am using pivot tables to generate most of the report how I want it, and then copying and pasting that pivot table below the previous one, and swapping out a variable for one column field (column F in first image, below). Can you recommend a more efficient way to generate this series of tables, ultimately in one sheet?
After I generate this series of pivot tables, I am copying each pivot table as values only and pasting into a second sheet. I am then adding a column (H in image, below) with a simple percentage calculation in it, plus some additional formatting, header relabeling.
My approach seems pretty laborious -- I need to learn more Excel pivot table skills -- so if you can make suggestions to me on better ways to do these tasks, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance for sharing your ideas with me.
I am using Windows and Excel 365. I also have access to Excel 365 in Mac.
