I'm new at this, so if I don't explain my problem correctly, please don't shout

Column A = date
Column B = name (sometimes multiple occurrences / date)

>5000 rows

I want it to show ONE occurrence of each name per date.

1) Does that make sense?

2) Can it be done?

Cheers

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Assuming row 1 is a header row, in C2 enter =A2 & B2 and fill down
Filter by column C for Unique Records Only
Select columns A:B and go to SpecialCells/VisibleCellsOnly
Copy and paste to D1
Delete columns A:C
