I'm thinking about buying a laptop. I'm presently looking at a model that has 6GB of RAM, is this enough to run PowerQuerty, PowerPivot, etc? What would be the optimal system configurations for running Excel efficiently?

Thank you for your help,

Michael

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
4GB is generally the requirement, so 6 should be plenty. I had a 4GB laptop up until about a year ago, and was able to run Office 365 / 2016 just fine - PowerQuery and all.

Take a look here for some other items to consider: https://products.office.com/en-US/office-system-requirements

32bit windows can only address 3Gb, so installing 4Gb isn't being used fully

OK, so if you want the full access you need 64bit OS and 64bit Office

I would get 8GB. That's what I have, and usage frequently approaches 6GB.
