Hello,

I have a file I update it every week and send it to my managers and colleagues.Recently I get a message of protected view, andI have to choose "Enable Editing" to do my data entry. It always happens when I get a “save as” or renamemy file. My problem is with inserted comments. I hide my comments for allcells, however, when I choose “Enable Editing”all comments get appeared. I know that change in options and security level cansolve this problem on my computer. However,I cannot ask all my colleagues andmanagers to do the same. I want to know what is the reason for this protectedview warning. As I mentioned it recently came up, and I want to find whichformula or links caused this issue. I don’t have any link to other worksheets. Could you please let me know to findsource of protected view warning on my file? Thank you in advance.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I think its what you suffer if you don't have web files saved as Trusted Files from an external source

File > Options > Trust Centre > Trust Centre Settings > External Content and set whats appropriate

Also

File > Options > Formulas - Error Checking & Error Checking rules and untick what you don't want

Do that in a blank book and save, then that should be your defaults, or you might have to apply them to a file
