Production Table Help

i have an Excel table - Table1, with quantities of different ingredients used by batch for different products. the products are the column headings and the ingredients are the rows.

I have created another table - Table 2, with quantities to be made for each product in the top row. by multiplying these quantities with amount of ingredients for each product, i get the total ingredients to be used.

I would like to be able to get the list of ingredients by clicking a particular product, which would be like a material requisition list for that product.

If i want to know the quantities of all ingredients to make product 1, i only have to click on button p1, and it will give me the list with the ingredient name and quantities.

Basically, your first table stays as-is.
Your second table, becomes just 2 columns, something like:

Highlight the cell below "Product", then select "Data Validation" from the menu or ribbon (depending on Excel version). In the "Allow" text box, choose "List", in the "Source" text box, click the icon at the right of the box, then select the cells from table 1 that contain the product name. It probably defaults to In Cell Dropdown, which is what you want.
For the time being, enter a 1 in the cell below "Quantity". Now, in each of the cells next to an ingredient name, enter an HLOOKUP formula, multiplied by the quantity. In the table above, assuming table2 starts in cell A1, and Table 1 is in cells E1 - F4 (I know yours is larger), the formula in cell B3 is

=HLOOKUP($B$1,$E$1:$F$4,[COLOR=red][B]2[/B][/COLOR],0) * $B$2

and the formula in B4 is

=HLOOKUP($B$1,$E$1:$F$4,[B][COLOR=red]3[/COLOR][/B],0) * $B$2

Note that with the exception of the "pointer" to the column containing the specified ingredient, the formula is the same all the way down.
Now, if you choose a product and enter a quantity, the recipe will be shown just for that product and quantity.

I ended up using the Validation, because as you mentioned using hundreds of buttons for each product would be a waste of space and it would be inconvenient.
