Previous Month

Hi,

I have a data validation list of Months (Jan to Dec in three-letter format) - Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr etc.

But I am looking to have a formula which in the next cell fills in the previous month (in the same format) to what I have selected from the drop-down.

Is this possible?

B1	=TEXT(EDATE((A1&1)+0,-1),"mmm")

Is this what you mean:

=TEXT(EDATE((A1&1)+0,-1),"mmm")

This slightly simpler formula would also work...

=TEXT((A1&1)-1,"mmm")
