What is the most efficient way to populate a payment schedule based on whether the payments are monthly vs. quarterly?

For instance, in the image attached, I would place the payments in the yellow cells for Quarterly pay and in the green cells for Monthly payments. However, these may change based on the client. I want to be able to put either Quarterly or Monthly in cell Bx, and the schedule populates appropriately.

The start date will vary for each client as well. That will be an input with the remaining dates populated using the EDATE function.

Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
I'm not sure if you're looking for a conditional formatting rule or not. But, I've written a function below that you can insert your payment calculation in the "TRUE" portions of the formulas and "" in the "FALSE" portions.

Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
D2:O2D2=EDATE(C2,1)
C4:O10C4=IF($B4="Monthly",TRUE,IF(MOD(COLUMN(C4)-3,3)+1=3,TRUE,FALSE))

If you just a want conditional formatting formula just use the conditional argument of the IF function without the IF
Excel Formula:
=IF($B4="Monthly",TRUE,MOD(COLUMN(C4)-3,3)+1=3)
