Pivot Table - Date values shown as serial number

I have a pivot table with a date value as one of the columns in the data that I want to use as a report filter.

For some reason the dates are showing as serial numbers rather than dates. The column of data is formatted as date and shows properly in the data but not pivot table.

I looked in field settings for the field in the pivot table, but I don't see any format options:

Any help would be appreciated.

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
I see that I selected entire columns as the data source (since the data rows can vary for the end user), and when I select only the data up until the final row it works and shows the dates.

The filter does not show years and months however. Is that an Excel 2007 vs 2010 issue?
