Pivot Table Count

I am trying to produce a pivot table that will count a column that contains week numbers when specific reports were closed.

However, as the cells within the column contain a formula it seems as if the pivot table will include those that are 'blank' i.e. the result of the IF statement is "".
So when I view the pivot chart, the count of open and closed are both the same!

Is there a way round this?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
I understand now. Change your formula to:

=IF(W2="Closed",(AC2&TEXT(AD2,"00"))+0,"")

and change Summarise by from Count to Count Nums. Result with your sample data:

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 292pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=389 x:str><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 80pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3876" width=106><COL style="WIDTH: 108pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 5266" width=144><COL style="WIDTH: 104pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 5083" width=139><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 80pt; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl24 height=20 width=106> </TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 108pt; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl24 width=144>Data</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; WIDTH: 104pt; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: black 0.5pt solid" class=xl27 width=139> </TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl24 height=20>Week Opened</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl24>Count of Week Opened</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: black 0.5pt solid" class=xl28>Count of Week Closed</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl24 height=20 align=right x:num>1140</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl24 align=right x:num>7</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: black 0.5pt solid" class=xl28 align=right x:num>6</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl25 height=20 align=right x:num>1141</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl25 align=right x:num>4</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: black 0.5pt solid" class=xl29 align=right x:num>2</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl25 height=20 align=right x:num>1142</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl25 align=right x:num>5</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #f0f0f0; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: #f0f0f0; BORDER-RIGHT: black 0.5pt solid" class=xl29 align=right x:num>3</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 15pt" height=20><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; HEIGHT: 15pt; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl26 height=20>Grand Total</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: black 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: #f0f0f0" class=xl26 align=right x:num>16</TD><TD style="BORDER-BOTTOM: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: #f0f0f0; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; BORDER-TOP: black 0.5pt solid; BORDER-RIGHT: black 0.5pt solid" class=xl30 align=right x:num>11</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
