Pivot Table Calculation

I have a workbook that has extremely large datasets with pivot tables that run off of them. I need to make multiple changes to the pivot table fields, but after every field filter that I select, the pivot table takes forever to calculate. Is there any way to pause/stop pivot table calculation until I'm finished making my field selections?

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Hi, just curious.
What version of Excel are you using? Is or are the pivot(s) located on the same workbook as your data?
Is the data (if on a different workbook) opened when you work on the pivot(s)?

I'm using Excel 2010. The data so large that I have it stored in Access. Each pivot then references Access to get the data. This Access database is usually not open when I am working with the Excel file. There really isn't any way around having the data stored in Access. As it is, the Excel workbook is over 100MB.

Sorry not to be able to help you further.
Pivot table are limited by Available Memory (your computer)
Have you searched in the Access forum??

Cheers.
