Is there a way to make this into a shared workbook so that I don't get the readonly prompt when I have more than 1 instance of excel open at the same time?

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
You can set its IsAddin property to True, though its macros will not then appear in the macros dialog, if that's how you normally run them.

That's fine, I don't really use it to be fair.

How do I set it's IsAddin property?

Select its ThisWorkbook object in the Project Explorer and then in the properties window (f4 if that's not visible) set it to True.

Thanks Rorya,

Have given it a try, but it doesn't seem to be saving. As soon as I reopen a workbook the property seems to have returned to false.

tried entering workbooks("personal.xlsb").save in the command window but it still doesn't seem to have saved the new property.

Any idea?

Do you only have one instance of Excel open when you are saving it?

It should work then, unless your file is read-only for some reason.

Don't think that it is.

In fact I think if it was readonly it would solve the problem, as I wouldn't get the prompt asking to start it in read only.

Is there a way to remove it, as I don't use it anyway.

Close Excel, locate it in your XLSTART folder and delete it.
