I am trying to make make a macro that will take a last name as an input and do a calculation on the values of the characters and come up with a unique password. How can I do calculations with characters other than numbers?

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
I would start messing about with the "chr()" property. This allows conversion between letters and numbers.

Not quite sure what you're looking for here.
