open a word doc

Hi
is there a way i can open a word doc (template) and incert fields from my spread sheet i can do it with an email

i have a spred sheet were i keep customers information on and would like to print a receipts

Hi,
Try using Mail Merge from Word, using the Excel worksheet as the source data. If you are using Excel 2007, there is a "Mailings" tab. One of the options is Email Messages. You can then create the body of the message inserting Word Merge fields from your Excel sheet.
It may or may not work for your needs, but it avoids macros altogether.
