Hi all- I just found this website. I wish I would have found it years ago! I am wondering if I am the the only dinosaur out there still using the old macro commands??? I just cant bring myself to use/learn visual basic

I started using
LOTUS 1-2-3 in USAF
Then using HYPERCARD a Apple product.
And then
Excel 4
And on and on.
I figure you have to move with the times.
I find basic command in Excel Vba easy to understand but when it comes to doing things the fastest considering milliseconds don't count on me for the fastest code. And I like using code I understand even if it takes another 3 seconds.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
VBA has a sort of similar wait method

Code:
<code>If Application.[B]Wait[/B](Now + TimeValue("0:00:10")) Then
    MsgBox "Time expired"
End If</code>

I just tried
Code:
<code>Application.[B]Wait[/B](Now + TimeValue("0:00:10")</code>
and it gave a syntax error - is it because I didn't use the full words of If etc

I don't want a message box, just to wait for the seconds I nominate then carry on with the rest of the macro

You don't have to use a msgbox, that's just for the example.

Code:
Sub WaitTest()
    Debug.Print "Waiting for 10 seconds...."

    Application.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:10"))

Debug.Print "... now continuing code execution"
End Sub

This produces a 10 sec delay.
