Dear Friends,

I am charting measurements from a CNC Machine with three axes, X, Y and Z. I created an Excel file that does exactly what it should…it charts the last three sets of 20 data points as expected.

My issue is this….

I created a Word document to embed the three Excel Charts into. I did this purely to format the charts nicely on one sheet of 11 x 17 paper so that my Machine Operator can print it out easily. The charts are embedded and linked into the Word Document, and the Word document is set to auto update with the latest info when the document is opened.

It almost works. What is happening is this…when the Word document is opened, the user is prompted to update the data. After selecting yes, the data is updated, but the X axis chart dates are not correct. The Y and Z charts are fine...it’s the X axis dates that are incorrect. See screen shots below…

X and Y axis charts as they appear in the Excel file…(Z is not shown)

...and as they appear in the Word document...

Note the Date Axis below the data points in the X chart. Why is this happening?

Here is a screen shot of my named ranges….

Hoping someone might be able to help me understand what is happening, and what needs to be done to fix this.

Thanks in advance!
