I'd like to track the date that an action was taken in a workbook in cell B2, but I don't want the date to update after the initial entry. Will I need to add code that copies B2 and pastes special values, or is there another alternative? I'm not seeing anything on the web that offers guidance on this.

Perfect! The surrounding code will only run if I step through it, so I had to test it that way, and it worked great! Thank you very much!

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
You are welcome.

I hoped my last explanation made sense. You do not want to insert a function/formula, which is constantly updated. You want to insert a value, which is static (until next time your code updates it).

It made perfect sense. If it was being done manually, I would have the EU enter the actual update date, not a formula.
