I just recently have been having Excel crashing a lot. And some times when I create new Workbook it gives the unsaved workbook the name:

"Book1 Non Commercial Use Unlicened Product.

But then other times this does not happen.

I can find no consistency in this happening.

Anyone have a answer to this:

I have Excel 2013 and have been using it with no problems.
I bought the Excel Office package at Best Buy and registered it back in 2013. And this is first time i have ever had this problem.

Some of the times my old files work great but next time I get crashes.

Excel has always worked great for me.

This happens on simple workbooks while running no macros.

I have made no recent changes to anything on my computer.
This is on my home computer not connected to any network.
I'm not saving to the cloud.

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Microsoft has done some auto updates to Windows 10 recently. Are you thinking a Virus can get on my computer during this update? I'm using "Trend Micro" for my online security. Have run another scan today but have found no bugs. I have no addins. Thanks for your advice.
apart from removing all addins, then running the offcat repair tool to fix the install.

There is this > https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...n-commercial-use-when-you-start-an-office-hom

I would suggest it is a bug introduced during security patches

For a update to this issue in case others may have this same issue.
On Jan 7th 2018 Microsoft did a auto update to my operating system I'm using Windows 10 With MSEdge Excel 2013

Then the above mentioned problems started occurring.

Now yesterday Jan 10th 2018 Microsoft did another update to my system and now the above mentioned issue has gone away.

I will let you know in a couple more days if the issue has surely gone away for good.

Thanks for all the answers given here.

Yeah, hate the auto-update with Windows 10, we used to have a choice, now we don't.
The December update completely destroyed my laptop, it wouldn't even boot, erased all my restore points so I couldn't do a Recover.
Luckily, I had my hard drive imaged, so I had to re-image my hard drive from my backup.
Now I've suspended my windows update and am afraid to let my laptop update.

Sorry to MODs if this is off-topic.
