Not sure even how to ask this one

I am a teacher. I am scheduling the faculty's classes for next semester.
I need to create a method to track names. As I add the name in the column of faculty names, I need to be able to track it either below or under another tab. So...
Roberts
Smith
Smith
Jones
Skinner
Hendrix
Smith
Jones
Thompson

I need this column of information to somehow reflect that I used smith for three classes already, Jones twice, and the rest once (so I do not over-schedule one faculty member and under-utilize another). Does that make sense? I am just not sure how to do it.
 
If you are using Excel previous to 07 the IFERORR function will not work.
UNfortunately wrapping with IF(ISERROR.... to work in in Excel 03 is giving very strange results.
The way to go will be:
INDEX(Name,MATCH(0,COUNTIF($C$2:C$2,Name),0))
and the delete the last #VALUE or as jeffrey suggested to use solution from link he provided

I should write the formula only in one cell the results comes in all

I mean to say that i donot want the formula in all the cells, if i write the formula in one cell than it should automatically effect all the cells
because i have thousands of names and i cannot formula in each cell

You have pop in onto someone else question.
Coudl you describe your problem a little bit better?
What do you mean by
"I want the answer to be exactly to be same as above"

and

Depends how many names you have you must have at list one cell for each unique name.

Actually i have 100 of names in sheet1 which has to sorted and counted in sheet 2 for example

Copy your names to Sheet2 and use Remove Duplicates tolls from Excel options

Use a pivot table. You will need a column next to the names with any type of data(doesn't matter as long as it is never blank) and both columns will need headers. Select both columns and then insert pivot table. Set the name column to the row table and the other column to values and make sure it is doing count.

Whenever you make a change to this list right click on the table and click refresh for it to show the new numbers.
