Hi I’m looking at purchasing a new pc. Willing to pay $2500. What’s better a Xeon cpu or i7. Will put in ssd drive and 32gb ddr4.

Looking at Dell xps or dell precision.

Thoughts?

a comparison from a few years back > https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Intel-CPUs-Xeon-E5-vs-Core-i7-634/ both are good in their own areas, xenon address more memory, i7 more expensive, to make the most of what you have then you must also consider the OS, if you only want 32bit then you limit yourself to 3Gb memory. Systems run at the speed of the slowest component so don't go all singing if something can't support it. The Dell stand alone units will have that covered by being optimally matched
