Example 0:20 = 20 minutes

I can't use the time format, when changed to a number format its 0.1?

I would like 0:20 in time coverted over to just 20, and if 01:20 converted to 100 (for 100 minutes)

thanks

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
If you cant get rid of the seconds from the time, use the =Round function

assuming your time is in A1,

(create a new column perhaps, then hide the original)

place in blank cell, =round(a1*1440,-1)

the -1 rounds down, whereas a 0 rounds to the nearest whole number.

Can you post SEVERAL representative samples and the expected results?

Posting a single sample allows for ambiguous interpretation.

Here's more figures:

66:54:22 = 66.5
56:25:45 = 56.2
44:36:85 = 44.3
82:56:32 = 82.5
45:59:65 = 45.5

I just want to have the time format displayed in the decimal format without changing their values. I hope this makes sense.

Regards,

Charles

Well, I'm not sure what you want to do.

The TRUE decimal value of the TIME entry 66:54:22 is 2.78775462962963.

So, I don't know about getting the cell to display as 66.5 but retaining the TRUE value of 2.78775462962963.

There is no way to do this with number formatting, you will either need to convert your values to the desired format or use a second column:

These two samples don't make sense:
44:36:85 -- 85 seconds?
45:59:65 -- 65 seconds?

Excel Workbook
AB
166:54:2266.5
256:25:4556.2
382:56:3282.5
