Need Help Summing Two Way Lookups from Multiple Tables

Looking to sum the total emissions from several tables based on two criteria – the engine type and pollutant. However, each emission table is “labeled” by the engine type from a drop down (at C15, H15, Q15, V15 etc) and can change based on user input.

I was able to develop a formula to capture the correct emission (tons column) on the Engine Evaluation worksheet for pollutant NOX and engine type PW4090 at the first table approx C15:G26, but do not know how to extend to sum from all tables.

So at J17 on the Evaluation Summary I came up with:

Both give the correct answer but again, I don’t know how to extend the formulas to the other tables. Below the table with the one formula at J17 is an image of the table with a few of the expected results.

Is it possible that you just have 2 small tables posted here along with the expected results (manually calculated), colored say in light blue, without a reference to any formula whatsoever?

You dropbox file is filled up with formulas and no indication where a formula is needed and what for. The trouble is with "see the file" is that it asks for a long study and a tenuous correlation with what has been said on the board itself.

A better strategy is that the problem owner (that's you) reduces the problem to its bare bones, creates a small example sample, state clearly what the desired results are (preferably done manually and, say, colored light blue), and offers no formula(s) for solution at all. If there is a set of problems, try to do them by one one, not all at once. Tip. Only NOX and CO should suffice as this set appears to be illustrative of the problem you appear to have.

Okay, I will try to explain.

I have many tables (Engine Evaluation tab) arranged side by side going down a worksheet from which I am needing to sum the total tons in column G that match the pollutant type for a given engine type (i.e., match NOX for PW4090). Using just the tables shown and not the referenced file in the earlier post. The value for NOX for PW4090 is 1.77, that value should be in cell J17 of the summary table (blue shaded cell). Since the engine type can change, and therefore be repeated (i.e., PW4090 and PW4077 are shown but can easily be PW4090 and PW4090), the corresponding value in the tons column need to be summed.

On the Evaluation Summary table for PW4090 engine and NOX, I need the value from the Engine Evaluation tab cell G14 to be placed at J17. If the table to the right (PW4077) were changed to PW4090, then the value at L14 (0.77) would need to be added to the (1.77) from cell G14 for a total of 2.54 (not shown). The pattern would be the same for the other pollutants. See blue shaded cells.

I hope I explained what I am looking for without any formulas present in the above tables.
