Dear All,
I have a data excel, I need a formula which will do a lookup in column A (sheet 2) to find the names which doesn’t exist in column A (sheet 1) if found it placed that name into column A (sheet 1).
For example:
Sheet 1 Sheet 2

Column A

Column B

A

1

Formula to place “B” automatically

Column A
Column B
A
1
B
2

I know lots of excel kings are here and I hope my query will resolve :).

To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Once again thank to help me Andrew....

What i want is==>

1. Formula should check first the names into sheet 2 column A (Which enter by manually)
2. After checking it should check same thing into Sheet 1 column A
3. If a name which does not exist into Sheet 1 column A
4. Copy that name into sheet 1 column A cell automatically
5. Formula address is = Sheet 1 column A2 and continue A3, A4 etc...

Note : name in the sheet 2 column A can be duplicate so formula should capture the name only 1 time into sheet 1 column A.

Hope it make sense, i got headache to find and try this type of formula.

Thanks

In short - i want those name (Uniquely) which are placed into Sheet 2 column A automatically into Sheet 1 column A so that i can count other things against them. I can use pivot table but when a new name enter into Sheet 2 column A and after refresh pivot table new name can show into list but other formulas are not automatically add to the new name row wise. I think you can make a macro regarding this query for me :).

Thanks Andrew

Actually, the entries will enter by person who will sold goods and a single person can sold multiple items,so person name can be multiple but in the Sheet 1 column A will only show single name.

What do you mean by 'row formula'? Please try to be more specific about how your data is laid out and what results you want from it.
