Hi all,
I need your assistance.
I have a column of alfa numeric figures/numbers (maximum of 5 characters in each cell).
I want to extract each individual character into individual cells to the right.
When I execute the VLOOKUP, I get the #N/A! error notification.
The source (the column with the 5 characters in each cell), has been downloaded from a web page, and is formatted as General.

Funny thing is that, when I actually manually type in any of the numbers, the VLOOKUP executes properly!

What am I doing wrong??
I am sure it is a simple fix. Unfortunately, the solution is eluding me.

Please assist.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
When you extract numbers from a mixed data they are generally returned as Text. Best way to convert them to numbers is Multiply them with 1 if extracted through formula.

Else use paste special technique to convert text to numbers.

Hopefully things shall go fine after that.
