I'm looking to apply a cell highlight to all intersections where the row and column heading match. The data set will be a pivot table, but if this prohibits the application of formatting I can work with a table. Solution needs to be Excel 2007 compatible. An example of what I'm looking for below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, conditional formatting is not my strong suit.

Excel 2007
ABCDEF
2Type268915
31
42
53
64
75
86
97
108
119
Sheet1

Mike, your formula (=($A3=B$2)) will work with the following setting. When setting conditional formatting on a Pivot Table you get three unique options for the "use a formula" option. The third radio button is "All cells showing "Total" values for "X axis" and "Y axis". When this radio is checked the range will automatically be adjusted in the conditional formatting.

Sorry for any confusion, and thank you both for your help.
