I am using MS Excel 2013 in a new PC.

In my original PC, with MS ExceI 2013, I can hover my mouse cursor on an activeX object and then click
on it to run VBA code successfully .

However, in this new PC, also with the same version as MS Excel 2013, whenever I hover my mouse
pointer on any activeX object, the mouse cursor icon simply changes to "a cross arrow". The activeX
object behaves like a picture object. When I click on it, no VBA code can be run.

Anyone knows how should I fix the problem?

Many thanks!

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
You are not still in Design mode on the Developer tab are you?

Or maybe Macros are disabled in the new PC ... Check Under Developper Tab>Macro Security

MARK858 : No. Not in Design mode. Even the Design mode button is disabled.
Jaafar Tribak : I have enabled everything possible in trust center. The ActiveX object still behaves like a drawing object. Weird.

for me (office 365) activex is the same, just the cross, cannot assign macro to it.

try recording and running simple macro.

i have issue where I create custom function. it crashes and when I fix the issue have to close excel and come back in.
