Move or Copy Worksheet

I just got Excel 2010 and am still getting used to the changes. I'm not sure exactly what is going on now but when I try to copy a worksheet into a new workbook...sometimes it works and sometimes Excel just completely closes everything, both the active workbook and any other workbooks I have open.

To copy the worksheet I right click on the worksheet tab, choose Move or Copy..., check the Create a copy box, choose (new Book) from the drop down and click OK.

And sometimes my sheet is copied to a new workbook and sometimes Excel shuts down, no error message or anything.

So is it just me doing something wrong or is there something weird with Excel 2010?

This is going to be a huge problem for me next week as I have macros in a number of workbooks that copy worksheets.

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Have you tried this:

If you prefer a more direct approach, you can move or copy sheets between open workbooks by dragging their sheet tabs from one workbook window to another (hold down the Ctrl key as you drag a sheet tab to create a copy). Use the Arrange All command on the View tab to display all workbooks onscreen. Note that this method works with a bunch of sheets as well as with a single sheet; just be sure that you select all their sheet tabs before you begin the drag-and-drop procedure.

You would just have to create the new wb first.

Neither the worksheet nor the workbook are protected.

I can try the drag & drop although that will add complexity to the process I am trying to simplify. I am more concerned that the copy feature only works sometimes and other times just closes everything. I don't know if that is a problem with Excel 2010 in general, with my copy or if my laptop is getting ready to crash.

If Excel's shutting down like that, then it points to a corrupt install since that's not normal behavior. Have you tried Fix & Repair?

If it persists I will have to take it back to IT since it is a work computer. I was hoping it was just something I had to do differently with Excel 2010 as my IT group does not support Office 10 currently, I'm one of the very few people to have it.
