I am having a lot of problems using section breaks in Microsoft Word. Section breaks are where you define the number of columns across the page in which the text is formatted.

I have a document which has a number of section breaks in it, and I am finding that at the last section break in the document, the page number is always reset to 1. There is nothing I can do to get around this. If I delete the last section break, the problem moves to the previous one!

It happens in every Word document I try it in .

I am wondering if this is a known problem with Word.

Try this.

Go to that page that is giving you problems and get into the footer or header of that section.

Goto Insert - Page Numbers and a Page Numbers window pops up.

Goto Format and check to see if it says START AT: 1.

If so, click on CONTINUE FROM PREVIOUS SECTION and it should pick up the next PAGE NUMBER.

I'm on WORD 2000 but there should be a similar feature of this in Word 97.
