Maybe VLOOKUP? Help sorting based on dates

So, I'm trying to get the latest information based on dates for flying.

What I'm trying to get is the latest Takeoff and Latest landing ONLY From the "L" Seat. Sum hours is easy, but I cant seem to get the last takeoff and landing of this particular sheet. The information is autopouplated, and isn't always in order, so I've had issue with the sort function. Please Help! THANKS!!!

=MAX(IF(D2:D16="L",G2:G16))
Array formula, use Ctrl-Shift-Enter

Base something on the above if you want other info as I dont copmpletely understand what youre after
