First I am very much a amateur and
I am attempting to create a multiple choice test in excel 2010. I have the formula and macros down. My problem is there are 218 questions with 3 choices per question and it seems that I can only use 52 shortcut key combinations. Is this correct or is their another way to assign shortcut keys. There may also be a better way of doing this and I would be open to any suggestions.

Thanks in advance

What do your macros do? If you have 218 or 654 macros there's probably a better way!

The macro also has a button assigned copies from one cell to the answer cell. The answer cell, with the formula will say correct or try again.

The question is in A1 the answer is in A2 the 3 choices are in A3-5 Each with a button assigned to macro that copies to cell A2 and in A6 has if function to say correct or try again.

Don't mean to just keep asking questions but what do you use the shortcut keys for?
And I suppose question #2 starts in A7.
And you have a separate button assigned to all 218 questions is that correct?
It's good to see your learning Excel and Vba.
Would you show me a Typical Question and the choices
I'm here just to help you.

You are hitting the nail right on the head, My Aswer Is This. OP, provide us with specific information and detailed issues and you are way more likely to have your issue resolved. How is your sheet laid out? What exactly do the buttons do? What are the shortcut keys for? What exactly is the problem?

Yes question 2 is in cell A2. I have a macro with a button assigned to each of the 3 choices that will copy the choice and paste it in the answer cell. In the 6 column to each question is where the "if" function is that will give a "correct" or "try again" depending on which of the 3 choices are picked.
Is there a way to post a copy of the excel file here?

Maybe I'm saying it wrong, when you record a macro you assign it a shortcut key like Ctrl+a. Each time you press Ctrl+a it will copy from cell A3 and paste to cell A2. I inserted a button that is assigned to the macro that will run it instead of the Ctrl+a. All that I have done works. Maybe what I need to be asking is if excel has a maximum number of macros that can be used in 1 worksheet?

Get the Mr Excel HTML Maker from this link:

Follow the directions to install and use it to copy and paste your data into the forum. If you have to take a screenshot, upload it to Imgur.com and just give us the link URL, or you can even "insert image" into your post. Thanks.
