Greetings to all,

I am having a problem with matching the value of first workbook and second workbook, for example

Workbook1: A1 = Blue B1 = using the CountIf formula

Workbook2: A8 = Blue

now, in Workbook1 B1 will have a value "Exist".
Any ideas?

Thank you in advance..

Not everything I do at work revolves around Excel. Only the fun parts.
I can't reproduce that behaviour (Excel 2003). Try this:

1. In the formula bar type =IF(COUNTIF(
2. Point to the source workbook, activate the source sheet and click the header of column A. You should now have something like =IF(COUNTIF([BOOK2.xls]Sheet1!$A:$A
3. Finish of the formula by typing ,A2),"Exist","")
