Match and Index Functions HELP!!!

I been working on this step for the last 2 days and I am unable to get the formula to work. Tried various versions and cant get the right command / formula. Can someone help. New at Excel so any assistance would be appreciated. Here is the question in a Lab I am doing. There are 9 steps and I can do all of them without any issues but the one step:

Enter a formula for commission that calculates the commission based upon multiplying sales times the appropriate commission from the data in A26:B28. Use [@Column_title] referencing and the INDEX and MATCH functions for looking up data in the A26:B28 cell range

This is what I have been trying or had come up with but they are invalid:

=[@[sales]]*=INDEX(A26:B28, MATCH(A7,A8:F20,0)



I tried pasting a copy of my spreadsheet on here but dont see the option to insert the file or sceenprint

If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.

;04 to determine the average number of departments of the wholesale and department stores in the range. Range for dept. is B10:B30. The name whole is on 04
