Make worksheet run more efficient?

Hi,
I use a worksheet that is mostly pics of several hundred small charts and lines with text descriptions of each. It is currently using about 460MB of memory, but the pics will increase as time goes by with updates. Are there any "tricks" I can use to help it run more efficient and use less memory, such as "grouping" the pics, renaming the pics into chronological order on the selection pane, or renaming/grouping the lines?
I know I can go up to 2GB memory, but just want to keep it running good.
Thanks!

Overall, saving the workbook as .XLSB format will reduce the size of the workbook tremendously.

Don't store the images within the workbook. The more images you store the larger the workbook becomes, the slower it opens/closes and becomes bogged down.

Consider using only a description for the image and not include the image. Have a hyperlink where the image can be opened within the workbook. That way, only one image at a time is actually
viewed within the workbook.

Consider using only a thumbnail image stored next to the description.

Consider which type image format you will use - some formats take up less space than others.
