Hello,

I use multiple systems in my office, some of them have 2007, some have 2010, some with 2013 and one with 2016 Excel.

I tried to find the Developer tab in all but i could find in 2010 and 2016 only.

Second, I could find personal. xlsb file in 2016 only not in any other version.

Could you pl suggest

a) How to make Developer tab visible in all the versions.
b) Where shall i find Personal. xlsb in all the versions.

Idea here is i be able to run Macros in all the versions.

With Warm Regards

Shyam Sharma

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
For 2010 version, the "Developer" tab can be visible if you follow the below steps;

-Click "File">"Options"
-Click "Customize Ribbon"
-On the right hand side of the window under Main Tabs, check the "Developer" item.

Thank You Friends!!

As the below mentioned path takes me to personal file in 2016.

C:\Users\Your name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART\personal.xlsb

What is the path to get personal file in 2007,2010 and 2013?

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART\

is a magic folder for Excel, and has been for generations. I haven't used a personal macro workbook since Excel 97, and it was also stored in XLSTART, though the rest of the path was not the same.

Anyway, I have Excel 2010, 2013, and 2016 on this laptop, so I opened 2010, recorded a macro, and saved it in the personal macro workbook. Turns out it was stored in the directory above. I quit Excel 2010 and opened 2013, and the personal macro workbook was there. Closed 2013 and loaded 2016, and again, the personal macro workbook was available. I'm sure if I had 2007 on this machine, it would look in the same folder.
