So I'm collecting web form entries in csv file.

Current row headings - Parent, NoOfChildren, Child1, Child1Details, Child2, Child2Details, Child3, Child3Details

I would like to get a more 'vertical' listing, ie -

Parent1, Child1, Child1Details
Parent1, Child2, Child2Details
Parent1, Child3, Child3Details
Parent2, Child1, Child1Details
Parent2, Child2, Child2Details
Parent3, Child1, Child1Details

I also putz a bit in Access but am unable to contrive a query that does this - so I figure if I can get the Excel sheet list in line, I'm good to go. . . I'll cross-post this in the Access Forum.

This is bit more complicated than just 'transpose!'

Using MS Office 2007

Thanks so much!

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
RegistrationMom,

Welcome to the MrExcel forum.

1. What version Windows are you using?

2. Are you using a PC or a Mac?

We can not tell where your raw data is located, sheet name, cells, cell formatting, rows, columns, and, we can not tell where the results should be, sheet name, cells, cell formatting, rows, columns.

To start off, and, so that we can get it right on the first try:

Can you post a screenshot of the actual raw data worksheet?

And, can you post a screenshot of the worksheet results (manually formatted by you) that you are looking for?

To post a small screen shot (NOT a graphic, or, picture, or, flat text) try one of the following:

While we do not prohibit Cross-Posting on this site, we do ask that you please mention you are doing so and provide links in each of the threads pointing to the other thread (see rule #10 here: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/board-announcements/99490-forum-rules.html). This way, other members can see what has already been done in regards to a question, and do not waste time working on a question that may already be answered.

UGH! My screenshots are flip-flopped! 1st should be 2nd, 2nd should be first! Just the effect of a mom working at home for non-profit! LOL!

Thanks for your patience with this newbie.

RegistrationMom,

In reference to your two links in your reply #6:

You are posting pictures/graphics/PNG files. This means that if this was a problem where one needed to use your data, anyone trying to help you would have to enter the data manually. That makes no sense and I doubt that you would get any answer.

It looks like Micron has a solution for you in your Access thread.
