Hi All,

I'm a bit of a newbie at this, so pardon this possibly basic question. I have a 370,000 or so line spreadsheet, containing one column of only 1's and 0's. I need to find all of the instances in which I have 50 (or more) repeating 1's in a row. I know this should be able to be done with a simple loop, but I'm getting nowhere. Any help?

Try this:-
Code:
[COLOR="Navy"]Sub[/COLOR] MG24Jun48
[COLOR="Navy"]Dim[/COLOR] Rng [COLOR="Navy"]As[/COLOR] Range, Dn [COLOR="Navy"]As[/COLOR] Range, n [COLOR="Navy"]As[/COLOR] [COLOR="Navy"]Long[/COLOR]
[COLOR="Navy"]Dim[/COLOR] nRng [COLOR="Navy"]As[/COLOR] Range
[COLOR="Navy"]Dim[/COLOR] R [COLOR="Navy"]As[/COLOR] Range
[COLOR="Navy"]Dim[/COLOR] msg [COLOR="Navy"]As[/COLOR] [COLOR="Navy"]String[/COLOR]
[COLOR="Navy"]Set[/COLOR] Rng = Range(Range("A1"), Range("A" & rows.Count).End(xlUp))
[COLOR="Navy"]For[/COLOR] [COLOR="Navy"]Each[/COLOR] Dn [COLOR="Navy"]In[/COLOR] Rng
    [COLOR="Navy"]If[/COLOR] Dn = "1" [COLOR="Navy"]Then[/COLOR]
        [COLOR="Navy"]If[/COLOR] nRng [COLOR="Navy"]Is[/COLOR] Nothing [COLOR="Navy"]Then[/COLOR]
            [COLOR="Navy"]Set[/COLOR] nRng = Dn
        [COLOR="Navy"]Else[/COLOR]
            [COLOR="Navy"]Set[/COLOR] nRng = Union(nRng, Dn)
        [COLOR="Navy"]End[/COLOR] If
    [COLOR="Navy"]End[/COLOR] If
[COLOR="Navy"]Next[/COLOR] Dn
[COLOR="Navy"]For[/COLOR] [COLOR="Navy"]Each[/COLOR] R [COLOR="Navy"]In[/COLOR] nRng.Areas
    [COLOR="Navy"]If[/COLOR] R.Count >= 10 [COLOR="Navy"]Then[/COLOR]
        msg = msg & R.Address & chr(10)
    [COLOR="Navy"]End[/COLOR] If
[COLOR="Navy"]Next[/COLOR] R
MsgBox "Ranges of count 50 or greater " & chr(10) & msg
[COLOR="Navy"]End[/COLOR] [COLOR="Navy"]Sub[/COLOR]
Regards Mick
