To inspect certain buildings, the first action we take is to see what object there are present to inspect. Different object have different ways of how to inspect them, those ways are discribed in (multiple) word documents. Is there a way to connect the list with the objects generated in excel, to the description in word. A document of the relevant descriptions is needed for the owner of the building, so he/she will know what the inspection(s) will entail.
For example building A has an:
* air-conditioning unit (description in word document A, page 5)
* security system (description in word document B)
* furnace (description in word document A page 10)
Building B has a
* security system (description in word document B)
* air-conditioning unit (description in word document A, page 5)
* multiple fire extinguishers (description in word document C)
Currently there are different word-documents for different groups of objects, with little to no layout (no automatic index or anything, just plain text). This can be changed, but preferably not because there are a lot of different objects (ergo a lot of word documents with a lot of text). It doesn't have to be an instant fix, but I am curious if there even is such an option.
I was thinking of a two-step solution.
1) V-lookup to copy the items of the specific list to a general list
2) Connect the general list to the word document (how exactly.....I wasn't yet sure of)
Hope someone has a bright idea about this.
