Bear with me, I hardly use pivots as I get by by using formulae...................

I have inherited a spreadsheet with a pivot table that each month gets "wider" as a new month appears. So eg JAN FEB MAR TOTAL this month, JAN FEB MAR APR TOTAL next month etc etc

In cell A1 there is a formula totaling column D. So next month it will need changing to column E and so on. They also have a COUNT formula looking at the same column.

Is there a simple way to automate this so each month we dont have to manually change the column reference? If it wasn't a pivot I wouldnt be asking such a silly question, but these pivots are odd beasts (IMO).

Thanks
