Link Re-opens a currently open workbook

I am linking to a table of contents. When I access information from the TOC and wish to return, Excel wants to re-open the original document.

Is there an easy fix to be able to link back without re-opening the file? Maybe a bookmark or something? I cant figure this one out and I know there is an easy fix out there..Please help!
 

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
