I am trying to import a column of dates from an Excel spreadsheet. I do have the dates formatted as Date 'mm/dd/yyyy' in the Excel spreadsheet, however when I point to the sheet tab in the Import Wizard window in Access they appear as Excel serial numbers. When I finish the Wizard every record gets a 'data failed to import' error. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Hi,

I've tried this and it works ok. Open your table in Access, make sure your date column is formatted for dates (in Design view). Go back to Excel and copy your column of dates, then go to your Access table and click on the Edit menu and select Paste Append. The date should be copied into your table. Good luck.

If you are working in 2002 then you need to close the workbook before trying to import the data.
