Hello,

I am wanting to copy a table from an Oracle DB into an Access table. I am able to to do this when I am copying the entire table, but the table in the Oracle DB is huge and was wondering if I know my 'where' clauses, how can I use Access to go to the Oracle DB, execute the query, then import just those results?

Thanks for any assitance.

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
Why not just set up a link to the Oracle DB? Access should treat it just like a table.

Then create a query (a make table query perhaps from this.

Thanks for the reply, Link would work but the owners of the Oracle DB is a different unit and I am crossing the line in the sand. They don't want a link just in case of issues.
I tried to do a straight 'make table' query but when I chose 'from another DB' the drop down did not allow me to choose an ODBC.

They are complaining about a Link?

And they are not complaining about you copying the whole table?

Tell them you only intend to link to the table so you can create your table and you will then delete it.

Or ask them to do the filtering ie set up a query in the Oracle DB
