Hello,

New here. I did a search and could not find the answer so I am hoping someone can help.

I have a simple formula between some cells.

Cell one is a dollar amount, cell 2 is another, cell three is the percentage increase between the two

I have more cells after that that rely on the other cells within the above but sometimes cell 2 IS BLANK.

WHen that happens cell three shows up as 100%.

How do I get cell three to show zero or to ignore when cell 3 is empty?

Thanks

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
I did not see an options to edit. Sorry.

The last line should read: How do I get cell 3 to show zero or to ignore the formula when cell 2 is empty?

Let's say cell1 is A1 and cell 2 is B1. Then in C1:

=IF(COUNT(A1:B1)=2,(B1-A1)/A1,"")

Okay...so in c1 I have the following formula (=b1/a1)-1 to get the percentage

Where do I put your formula?

I have tons of rows like that one and they all have the same fomula...cell 2 being full or blank is random. I need the formula to apply to all cells in case any of the cell 2's on any line are empty.

Sorry, if this is a jumbled mess. I would cut and past a snippet of the excel in here to show you- dont know how to do that.

As I said in my post, put it in C1 and copy it down to cover all your data.
