hello excelers,

those 70 excel files are heavy files, I successfully open 21 excel files, but on the 22 file - it won't open, just give an error with headline "Microsoft visual basic for application" and says "out of memory",

which is logic, I've seen I can really work on those 21 files smoothly without any problems fast and reliable.

so I really want to dedicate an entire computer just to successfully open 70~ excel files,
Is that possible ? if it does, what computer u think it's have to be ?

right now , my laptop that opens 21 files is Lenovo Z510 - 8 gb memory. 4 core processor.

thanks for the help, hope to get something for my unusual question.

Surely you can only review one workbook at a time, so why not open a workbook, review it, close it, open the next workbook to review, review it, close it and so on.

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
the excel is kinda a business to me, I don't want to slack , it's so easy to slack when u have to review 60 excel files a day, everything that's going to be easier can turn out to be smart , I know I find it very easy for me to slack on my work. when It isn't a developing mission, but just a routine I'm the worst... and I've learned that the routine and the basic are as important as everything, if not more. so it's motivates me - like saying - here it is - in your face, you don't need to wait 20 seconds it's right here, review.
I'll order 480GB SSD and 8GB RAM , and I hope it will be faster, I hope to get to 10 seconds to be bearable

It does seem that you have your mind set on upgrading your system without trying any other options. Personally I would have gone for a "no cost" option.
Some people have reported file size reductions of up to 75% (it depends on the file content) when converting to .xlsb and many years ago I achieved a better file size reduction than that.
Changing the file extension in the macro(s)/VBA is just a simple "find and replace".
I would also have thought that opening only 18 files at a time would overall not result in any "slacking" - time would also be saved if Excel itself was not closed between the four "batches" of files.
Good Luck with your new system - it would be interesting to find out how that goes.

I would also argue that it is not unlikely that your files can be (greatly) optimised both for speed and size.

thanks , I'll cut with the solver, and try to find generic information that I could move to a generic file
