I disagree. Lets suppose I am drafting a post. At some stage during that process a draft may have saved but I don't know when.Seems to me like it ought to clear the screen, too. I said "delete". I didn't say "delete unless I don't delete again within 60 seconds".
I realise that what I have typed is not right so I manually delete what is in the compose window and start typing quite a bit of the correct post. If I then think about the saved draft and delete it and it also deleted my new (correct) typing, I would be annoyed.
To me it is quite correct that the saved draft is deleted, not the contents of the current typing window.
