Hyperlinks all screwed up

I set up some internal bookmarks and hyperlinks in a Training Guide I am writing. I use the hyperlinks so that I can jump from the table of contents to whatever chapter I wish, and so that in the middle of a paragraph I can offer the user a jump to another related chapter. After I saved all this stuff, for some reason each and every Hyperlink disappeared, stopped working, and teh following text appeared:
HYPERLINK \l "Chapter1x0"

There is also a little "box" at the beginning and end of this "HyperlinK" text

The "Chapter1x0" refers to the bookmark I placed in the document.


And This happened for every single hyperlink. Anyone know how to fix this?
