Hello,
I have in column C a long list of date and time in the following format:
<tbody>
01/05@0558
</tbody>
Where 01/05 is the date and 0558 are the 5:58 AM

How can I split the format in two different columns and with the correct date (mm/dd/yyyy) and time (hh:mm) notation?

Thank you so much,

MV

Lack of year provided IS context.
Excel sees a string that looks like a date, but has no year. It assumes the current year.

All I'm trying to say is to clarify for other readers of our forum, that this is NOT a correct statement.
01/05 is not a date - the year is missing.
In both Excel and Life.
When the year is omitted, the current year is assumed.

Thank you very much. Super Helpful
I rest my case.

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
@Jonmo1
I don't care it did work for OP. The initial string did not contain year. How Excel will interpret it - it's another case. As I said, the context is not clear - according to string! As I said before, the book could be about sales in 2006. So, if you insist that Excel is a judge, then tell me, what year do I mean under "12/22" (in US format)?
