How to insert Date to spreadsheet?

HI,
i'll be greatful if anyone would help me to insert insert date for the whole year In column "A" and how to format Sat. with green,Sun. with Red colour all across the sheet.Thank you as ever for all help in advance.

Hi Sezuh,

Try Jeff's proposal in post #7. It's simple and works great. But If you want to go to any specific date earlier than today to start from, change the arguments within MONTH and DAY parentesis to:

MONTH(TODAY())-any number.
MONTH(TODAY()) gives you 5, that is May. Subtract one for April, two for March etc.

DAY(any number that repsresents a day from 1 to 31)

To make it more dynamic you can set some cells anywhere in your sheet to be used as variables values where you can house the numbers that you subtract each time

George if i do not want to start from today but from any earlier date what change to be done to excel formula?:confused:

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
