I want to import ,say, D column from .xls (not csv) file, data is range, not table.
How to do that ?

I found how to import named column, but not basic

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
You will need pandas library.
Assuming the column D has a header named "column D".

Code:
import pandas as pd
df = pd.read_excel('file.xls')
col_d = df['column D']
